To date, more than 56,000 attendees have participated in THE X FACTOR booth auditions nationwide.

“I am very excited that we have extended the video auditions deadline,” said Simon Cowell. “We have received so many great quality MyStudio video auditions from people who weren’t able to make it to a live audition that I encourage more people to go to their local MyStudio audition booth and create their X FACTOR audition immediately.”

JUST WAITING FOR THAT MINIMUM WAGE CHECK AT THE END OF HIS DAY OF HIS JUDGING CAREER FOR THAT WEEK. YES THIS JUDGE AFTER ME WAITING IN LINE FOR 2 DAYS SING 1 SENTENCE & THEN SAID HE WAS GOING TO HAVE TO SAY NO.
I WAS VOTED BEST FEMALE VOCALIST IN THE STATE OF OREGON, BEEN ON THE TNN, NASHVILLE NETWORK “YOU CAN BE A STAR’, BEEN VOTED BEST FEMALE VOCALIST IN THE UNITED STATES FROM WRANGLER COUNTRY SHOWDOWN, WELL I WON’T GO ON, YOU GET THE PICTURE. I HEARD SOME THAT WENT ON & AFTER HEARING 1 SENTENCE I DON’T BELIEVE I WAS LISTENED TO AT ALL. THE JUDGE TALKED TO ME ABOUT WHERE I LIVED ETC., LONGER THAN HE LET ME SING. I WAS EXTREMELY NICE, I AM NEVER BIG HEADED, I JUST LOVE TO SING & FEEL I AM A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THIS SINCE I CAN’T TRY OUT FOR AMERICAN IDOL. BUT………………………………………………………………….AFTER THE JUDGE TOLD ME NO, I TOLD HIM THAT I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS, YOU DIDN’T EVEN LET ME SING BUT 1 SENTENCE HE SAID, WELL YOU CAN TRY OUT FOR AMERICAN IDOL WHEN THEY COME TO TOWN. GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AT 44 I AM GLAD HE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO LET ME AUDITION. I DIDN’T THINK HE WAS LISTENING, BUT HE WAS, HE JUST DIDN’T CARE, I CAN
T LET THIS GO UNTIL EVERYONE HEARS MY STORY OF HOW I WAS TREATED BY X-FACTOR, LOOK FOR ARTICLES ON-LINE, YOUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER, OR SEND ME AN E-MAIL IF YOU WANT ADDITIONAL DETAILS OF HOW YOU MAY BE TREATED & IF YOU KNOW WHAT’S BEST FOR AMERICA OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY, DON’T WATCH X-FACTOR. DOUBT YOU’LL READ ALL OF THIS COMMENT, I AM SURE THE WAY I HAVE WITNESSED X-FACTOR, THEY WILL CUT MY COMMENT TO PIECES & TRY & MAKE AMERICA THINK EVERYTHING IS AS IT SEEMS. NOT!!!!!!I I HAVE WORKED TOO HARD ON MY CAREER TO BE STEPPED ON BY SOME PUNK WHO DOESN’T KNOW MUSIC. THINK BEFORE YOU WAIT IN LINE 2 DAYS & SPEND HUNDREDS ON EVERYTHING TO GET THERE. NOT TO MENTION THE YEARS OF PRACTICE TO GET TO THIS MOMENT ONLY TO HAVE THIS PUNK CONTROL MY DESTINY. THIS STORY WILL BE HEARD MORE THAN ONCE BY READERS. THANKS FOR CARING.

are you still able to do a video audition if you already did a live audition, but didn’t make it? I would much rather have done a video audition had I known, because the live audition in Chicago, was with 20 other people and only a thin curtain between you, so with my softer Norah Jones song next to a big loud belter, my judge could not hear me very well. I would love to have a shot doing it by video in a closed room.

I agree with Dena. I was at Seattle and went in front of a late 20ish or 30s female. Who let me sing 2 verses but seemed to be hard of hearing. I sang a perfect song which spans 3 octaves! She was either unable to recognize a popular song or she was blatently racist. (yes, I am a minority). I have to say no was her cold remark. If the preliminary Judges are so ignorant to talent, then we can expect a same type of show like AI which mainly features freaks with mediocore talent. ( and yes, I saw an Idiot with a tall white feather hat and an Armish type buffoon progress to the next round in Seattle).

Once I told her my age her expression changed, they say there is no age limit yet I felt prejudged the moment I walked into the room. I feel I would have fared better if there was a one of the video audition booths set up and I went there and recorded myself singing..Perhaps Simon will figure out a better way to hold these auditions,,,Hiring people to judge singers that dont/cant sing just isnt fair to me…

I agree with you guys in how you were treated, as it is unfortunate, many of the tv shows auditions are that way, I think all auditions should be taped so the REAL DEAL decision makers could make the decision, or HIRE LEGIT TALENTED PEOPLE to treat people the way they should, and make a decent effort to be fair. People spend a lot of time and money in auditioning so to get a few seconds to sing and be treated badly, is completely unacceptable. My friends and I auditioned for the VOICE, it was the same way, a 20 year old punk , uh, thx but NO, and I too, am a very talented entertainer/singer and always bring down the house wherever I sing, no matter what I sing, so I can relate to you and how you feel. Maybe if Simon gets these posts, vs the 20yr old punks that are actually viewing the talent, maybe he will make some changes so they can truly SEE WHAT REAL TALENT IS, that they have never had the chacne to see, best wishes,

I SO AGREE THAT THE 5 MILLION WILL BE MADE NO MATTER WHAT, BUT IF WE ALL WRITE OUR LOCAL NEWSPAPERS & CALL YOUR LOCAL TELEVISION STATIONS & TELL OUR STORY, MAYBE LESS PEOPLE WILL WATCH THE X-FACTOR & WORD WILL GET AROUND THAT THEY ARE DESTROYING THE CONFIDENCE LEVEL OF MUCH MORE TALENTED PEOPLE THAN THEY CHOOSE FOR AMERICA TO LAUGH AT.
THIS IS NOT SAYING THAT ALL THOSE THAT GOT TO GO AHEAD ARE AWFUL, BUT THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT THAT IF I HAVE BEEN ON “YOU CAN BE A STAR” ON TNN, VOTED BEST FEMALE SINGER IN THE US BY WRANGLER COUNTRY SHOWDOWN, ETC., THAT THE PUNK KID WHO COULD CARE LESS WHAT HE HEARD SHOULD NOT BE IN THE POSITION TO JUDGE ANYONE’S VOCAL ABILITY. THESE ARE REAL LIVES, REAL PEOPLE WHO PRACTICE THOUSANDS OF HOURS TO GET THEIR VOCALS AT TOP PERFORMANCE LEVEL IN ORDER TO STAND IN FRONT OF THESE SO CALLED JUDGES & THEN BE TOLD IT WILL HAVE TO BE A NO TODAY. ON TOP OF IT ALL 1………………………………….SENTENCE TO LET SOMEONE SING WHO HAS STOOD IN LINE FOR 2 DAYS IS JUST MEAN. I DON’T CARE IF I SUCKED SO BAD IT HURT A JUDGES EAR, 1 SENTENCE IS NOT FAIR TO DO TO SOMEONE WHO HAS STOOD IN LINE ALL DAY. IT IS JUST NOT FAIR.
I SANG ON THE GRAND OLE OPRY & THOUGHT, THESE PEOPLE WHO GO ON MUST BE AWESOME. WELL,………………I HEARD 6 OR 7 OF THOSE AWESOME PERFORMERS THEY PASSED ON & WHAT A TRAGEDY IT WAS BE SO CLOSE TO SOMETHING YOU HAVE WAITED FOR YOUR ENTIRE LIFE BE IN THE HANDS OF THIS PUNK WHO OBVIOUSLY JUST DIDN’T CARE WHAT YOU I SOUNDED LIKE OR HOW IMPORTANT THIS ONE MOMENT WAS, & A MOMENT IS JUST WHAT IT WAS. IF I’M NOT GOOD DON’T PASS ME ON, BUT THERE IS NO WAY WITH THE PROFESSIONAL MUSIC INDUSTRY JUDGES & PROFESSIONALS THAT I HAVE BEEN CRITIQUED BY COULD ALL BE WRONG & THAT THIS PUNK WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT COULD SEE THAT I REALLY SUCKED. I AM 44 & I FELT I STILL HAD 15 YEARS TO PERFORM & I THOUGHT THIS X-FACTOR SHOW WAS FOR THOSE THAT COULDN’T AUDITION FOR AMERICAN IDOL BECAUSE OF THEIR AGE. ALTHOUGH, I AM THRILLED THAT THE JUDGE THAT AUDITIONED ME, YOU KNOW THE PUNK, SAID THAT I COULD AUDITION FOR AMERICAN IDOL. I CAN’T WAIT. I MIGHT BE THE ONLY 44 YEAR OLD THAT AUDITIONS, BUT THE BRIGHT & TALENTED JUDGE (NOT), SAID I COULD, SO I HOPE SIMON SUPPORTS HIS JUDGE IN LETTING ME AUDITION BECAUSE I WILL BE PRACTICING UNTIL I STAND IN FRONT OF, HOPEFULLY AN INTELLIGENT JUDGE OR AT LEAST ONE THAT CARES.
ALL I CAN SAY IS WRITE YOUR NEWSPAPERS, NEWS TELEVISION STATIONS & ALL THE MEDIA YOU CAN FIND IN YOUR TOWN, I MEAN ALL THE MEDIA YOU CAN THINK OF & TELL THE REAL STORY. THIS IS NOT RIGHT………………………DENA MARIE…LET ME KNOW YOUR STORY & I MIGHT ADD IT TO MINE OR STATEMENTS FROM YOUR EXPERIENCE. LOOK FOR MY ARTICLE EVERYWHERE BECAUSE I CAN’T LET IT GO UNTIL I CAN TELL EVERYONE HOW I WAS TREATED. I EARNED THAT AUDITION, PAYED MY DUES & 1 SENTENCE JUST WASN’T FAIR. YES I REALIZE LIFE ISN’T FAIR, BUT I DON’T IGNORE THINGS THAT I MAY BE ABLE TO CHANGE OR INFORM OTHERS TO AVOID. MY CONFIDENCE WASN’T DESTROYED, BY I THOUGHT THAT WE AS AMERICANS HAD STARTED TO JUDGE OTHERS FOR WHAT THEY CAN DO NOT WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE, HOW OLD THEY ARE, ETC. & IT ONLY CONVINCED ME THAT X-FACTOR HASN’T FOLLOWED THIS PATTERN. SAD BUT TRUE. DENA

My 13 year old daughter was extremely excited to hear the X Factor was going to have auditions in Chicago and the ages were 12 and up so she could participate. After missing two days of school and waiting for hours for her time to audition she was told by the “judge” that she was one of the best singers he had heard all day, composed herself beautifully, but HE FELT she was to young to handle being on a show that would be broadcasting out to millions of people. Another girl my daughter actually made a cd with was advised she was a wonderful singer but was to young and to return in a few years. She is 14 yrs old. I am very frustrated that if 13 and 14 yrs of age is to young then why put the age minimum at 12 yrs. I believe that is age discrimination and the judges need to be aware of the rules.

They let only a small amount of freakish looking or fat or whatever just so they don’t get any “heat” but in the end there are more good looking guys and girls…of course the freaky or fat ones are gone by then except the good looking freaky ones like Adam Lambert…he was really adorable but yet super freaky…had he looked like a toad, he would have been gone after just a few weeks good or not. Just like so many others, my daughter CAN sing but wasn’t really given the chance to. You could tell they made their decision before a note was even sang…also keep in mind….each city was allowed to pick up to 50 I think it was…there was 24 booths at each location….so each booth could pick only 2…what if our booth already had their 2? You get the pic….

In an attempt to be a bit more positive think of the extrodinary experience it was to just audition live. After years of being told that something was so terribly wrong with my look, my ideals, my voice, ect… I stopped performing and auditioning and finished my bachelors degree. I am a graduate student working on my MBA and still have that passion for music so I gave the audition process in Denver for the MyStudio’s a try. I have to say it was rewarding to at least experience the state of the art booth. There was not a single person in line the day I showed up (a friday) so that was also promising. The guy there at the booth was extremely helpful. I sang an Etta James classic “Somethings Got A Hold on Me” and I feel I blew that studio up with my vocals. Nonetheless, I am still waiting to hear from a representative regarding a rejection e-mail and or a phone call. When I submitted my audition with the directions that were e-mailed to me an auto response said it would be 14 days approximately. Not sure if that changed since they increased the time limit.

However, I wanted to take a moment and give some advice to those that may read all these comments regarding bad experiences. 1.) Everyone should have read a release form and Terms & Agreement which specifically stated that you could encounter a moment of defamation ect…enough said there. 2.) Clearly, there were underlining expectations by so many that may have not had an assumable “fair” shot at these live auditions. Let me say this….feel blessed you had the experience because in the end its not about the physical outcome, but the spiritual gain. I know I may sound like Positive Polly-Anna, but why get so angry at one audition. to the 44 year old who is best in the state of Oregon, been in TNN, A country vocalist you have had some amazing experiences and if your that damn good then why sweat the small stuff. Why sabotage another persons opportunity merely because a 20 something who may have more experience than you think shot you down and told you no. Feel proud that you put yourself out there and count yourself lucky that you were able to be there live in front. I say this only because I was one of those that could not be there live with 19 other people blocked by a small curtain. I mean no disrespect, but it really becomes a lack of consideration for others that were chosen and the creators that could be working exhausting hours to make this a successful segment to television that could be renewed. So in essence this is not a final end to your opportunity. Take some constructive criticism and move forward and perhaps next year will bring better opportunities. :) *Hugs* to all that have auditioned and best of luck to all of us in the attempt to become the X Factor.

Pollyanna’s right. I auditioned thrice for American Idol and was rejected at the first table but it thickened my skin. Even though my heart sank when they came at me with the scissors to chop off my wristband, i realized the bad feelings in life just give an artist more clay to sculpt with… or more appropriately, more painful, gritty, emotional undertones to sprinkle into our vocal performances. Every awful, amazing experience i’ve had has connected me deeply to song lyrics and really helped me to stop calculating every run and riff. In life you get a whole gaggle of NO and a mere handful of well appreciated YES. I’ll be auditioning in Dallas for the xfactor. Fingers crossed x

i’m 57 yrs old so I know they would say to me your too old. it’s a shame there are so mant talented singers out there who will never get a chance to perform and show what they have. I have been singing in front mirrors for years. I love to sing i lost my Mom 2009 of jan and three months later my father took his own life I didn”t even get a chance to say good bye to my daddy. So I wrote a song about my parents as singing is a healer and a gift from God
